Gems of Hope

From their website: "Gems of Hope Inc. is a nonprofit organization that offers gifts of jewelry mounted on inspirational cards to cancer patients. The patients are invited, along with family and friends, to attend workshops to create these works of art for others."  

On the home page the user immediately sees a slide show of pictures to introduce them to Gems of Hope.  

There is a tribute page to one of the founding directors along with an audio clip of her experience with cancer and her reasons for building Gems of Hope. Here are some features used within this website:
Jacob L. Smith
A personal website for Jacob that is used as his portfolio and resume for acting and theater.  Because Jacob's portfolio and resume change over time, he has the ability to add his own pictures, music files, and even information to his resume in a very easy to use web interface.
Sugar-Pine

The owner of Sugar Pine is the editor of the content on the website and is in charge of creating image gallery's and uploading images to the galleries.

Advanced Features used:

  • Lightbox - When an image thumbnail in the gallery is clicked, the full size image is displayed in a special window on top of the web page so that users can scroll through the various images easily.
  • Image Gallery - The website owner creates new galleries when he has finished a project and uploads multiple images to the gallery.

 
City of Walford

The City of Walford wanted a website to inform their citizens of news, parks and recreation, events, and their visioning plan.

A variety of features were used to accomplish their needs:

  • Calendar of Events
  • Upcoming Events

A special set of users are allowed to login to the site and add their own information, including a calendar event and recent news.  This gives the City of Walford full control over their content.
College Community Rec Baseball

This website is used to showcase the College Community Rec Baseball league, as well as open communication channels for those involved.  

Features include:

  • Calendar of Events
  • Newsletter subscription - allows timely updates of new information.
SaraGalm
A personal website for Sara that is used to show her acting and theater portfolio.  Because her portfolio and resume change over time, she has the ability to add her own pictures, music files, and even information to her resume in a very easy to use web interface.
  • Lightbox is used to give a nice interactive feature for visitors when viewing images.  
  • A printable version of her resume is available.
  • Image Gallery's - various events or performances are grouped into photos and can be viewed like a photo album.
  • Audio clips can be listened to straight from the website.  No need for the user to download the file or install special software.
